Make Your House a Home

1

I've been watching a lot of HGTV and DIY shows lately (I'm turning into my father, and it's awesome) and I've noticed a ton of Lowe's commercials that use the phrase "Make your House a Home"

First off, lets begin by analyzing the opening paragraph:

1. I've noticed a ton of Lowe's commercials: The fact that I'm tuning into Lowe's commercials, and it's not an advertisement for a movie theater scares the crap out of the 18 year old version of Chris Lima.
2. I've been watching a lot of HGTV and DIY shows lately: This sentence scares the crap out of the 12 year old version of Chris Lima, who swore he would never step foot into a Home Depot. This past weekend, we spent 25 minutes waiting on line in that Orange Hell Hole, waiting for a sales rep to make us a copy of our house key.

Anyways, I've been thinking about how to make TH-413 our own. The 21-year old college, leap before you look, version of Chris Lima keeps telling me to cover everything with Yankee stuff and strategically placed boxes of Keystone Light 30 packs, but I'm pretty sure that wouldn't go over well with the 27 year old version of Kristen Bladel (the 21 year old version of Kristen Bladel probably wouldn't have approved of such decoration either, and for that should be applauded).

We decided to start small; add some flowers to the deck. We went over to "Down to Earth", picked up some Cocomoss and Potting Soil and then went over to Stop and Shop to pick up some $2 plant jobs (we figure, if the first attempts at gardening fail, it won't be the expensive flowers to go first).

Here are a couple of photos from our first attempt at making our house a home:

Cocomoss; gross and small particles of fuzz go everywhere.

Trivia Question: Which has more fur per square inch;
the cocomoss or Chris' forearms?

If you were outside, the only thing you could
hear is Kristen yelling "Don't get any dirt on the flowers!"
Because, lets be honest, the worst thing for flowers is dirt.

Not bad Mr. Greenthumb!
